USO San Antonio

http://www.facebook.com/USO.SanAntonio

I know that some of us don't really check that Facebook account all that much, or really look around on it like we should, at the places that really matter, but I wanted to share what is happening at the USO.  There is a need for volunteers for the Barnes & Noble gift wrap book drive, which is a great way to spend an afternoon of volunteering.

Weekend Fun

http://www.dinosaur-quest.com/

This looks like such fun and isn't too pricey.  I know we will all be looking for fun things to keep ourselves or the kids busy during the holiday breaks, especially if we have out of town guests.  You can print the coupon or just take a picture with your mobile phone and show it at the time of purchase!  Find more options at http://www.mysanantonio.com/entertainment  This weekend, it lists places that you can see Harry Potter, The Misfits (White Rabbit), Spurs vs. Cleveland, Free Photography Exhibit and Artist Reception with Kent Rush, and the Bracken Farmers and Artisans Market.  It's amazing what you can find with a little point and click around here.  Always available at the tip of your fingers is a listing of what is available for you and your family here on base. Please bookmark the pages listed and come back to them time and time again!

Cinderella's Closet

Yet another great program to spread the word about.

The Cinderella's Closet is a program sponsored by the ESC where we loan gowns/dresses for events such as ALS/NCO Academy graduations, award ceremonies, balls, any formal or semi-formal event.  If you are not sure if the protocol calls for formal or semi-formal attire, just email us and we can tell you what is most appropriate for you to wear based on what the military equivalent uniform is for the event.  This is also a nice chart to reference for dress codes. What to wear?

The dresses are on loan for FREE. The only cost is dry cleaning when you return the gown/dress.

Open on Tuesday nights from 6:00-8:00pm at Airman's Attic, located on main base Lackland Air Force Base.  We are also looking for spouses to volunteer time on Tuesday evenings to take shifts.  Many sizes are available and selections are constantly changing so stop by often!

*Donations are also being accepted

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at

Welcome to Lackland Enlisted Spouses Club!

We are so excited to connect with spouses coming to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio!  Now that it is officially a joint forces command, serving so many more services we are finding even more ways to reach out to the community to find "our people".  We consider those to be any spouse who needs our support or guidance, or most important, friendship.  Please visit this page often, ask questions, email, comment, go to our Facebook page and "like" us and come to our meetings!
