Dyeing O' the River Green & St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival
March 12-13th, 2011 - 12pm-6pm
Floats release 35 pounds of environmentally friendly green dye into the San Antonio River. The event transforms the 2.5 mile river into a miniature Emerald Isle where a proclamation is read, temporarily re-naming the river "The River Shannon". Beginning at 3:00pm Saturday, the annual St. Patrick's Day River Parade provides everyone on the River Walk an opportunity to enjoy yet another parade of barges, commemorating St. Patrick. Enjoy live music on Arneson Stage, and a family-friendly festival of food, games, activities and more on Saturday and Sunday, 12pm-6pm! Free to the public

Canoe Challenge
August 13, 2011
Over 90 canoe teams compete in the Canoe Challenge…local celebrities, city officials, corporate teams and Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts compete in timed heats. The race begins at the Chamber of Commerce, heads east through and around the Convention Center Lagoon, through the Rivercenter Mall Lagoon and ends back at the Chamber of Commerce.

March LESC Meeting Information

Hey everybody just wanted to remind everyone about the upcoming March meeting on March 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lackland Stacey High School cafeteria.  I think it is going to be awesome and we are going to have a guest speaker.  Loree Tillman- 2010 Navy Spouse of the Year.  She will be talking about blue star families.  So please if you can attend for this great opportunity.  Childcare will be provided and the potluck is still to be determined.  Look back for updates!  Hope to see you there.
